The Eighth
Sunday after Pentecost
Selected
Readings
Do not forget that the value
and interest of life is not so much to do conspicuous things (although we must
have this ambition) than to do ordinary things with the perception of their
enormous value.
Teilhard de Chardin
A holy Christian life is
made up of a number of small things: little
words, not eloquent sermons; little deeds, not miracles of battle, or one
great, heroic deed of martyrdom; the little constant sunbeam, not the
lightning.
The avoidance
of little evils, little inconsistencies, little weaknesses, little follies and
indiscretions, and little indulgences of the flesh made up the beauty of a holy
life.
Andrew Bonar,
a 19th century Scottish
preacher
Luther Quote of the Day
The fewer the words,
the better the prayer.

Thank You from MLC Youth
Dear Muhlenberg Family,
We have had an incredible
time in San Antonio thanks to your generous donations, support and
prayers. We experienced the great
fellowship of 25,000 other people all being in the same place, sharing the same
faith, and dreaming the same dreams. Through
Christian music and powerful speakers, we learned more about our journey with
Jesus (Cruzando). The speakers
challenged us to use the gifts we’ve been given to make a difference in the
world and be a voice for the voiceless.
Thanks again for giving us this once in a lifetime experience. It is one we’ll be sure to never
forget. Yours in Christ,

Godspeed and Blessings to
Robin Strickler!
After
living and visiting with Muhlenberg for the past 6 months, we welcomed Robin
Strickler into membership with our church family last Sunday and sent her off
with our prayers and blessings to begin ministry and mission work in
Rwanda. Robin joins her husband John
Rutsindintwarane, a beloved Rwandan pastor and friend of our parish, in eastern
Rwanda where they will begin the work of building a secondary school for
Rwandan boys and girls.
Muhlenberg will be supporting their mission
work monetarily through periodic offerings and mission gifts. Our Social Ministry/Global Mission Committee
will oversee and publicize their work and progress, and work together with
Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church who also supports this mission. We will receive periodic updates from Robin
and John via email in our parish newsletter.
For more information on the Project, please see their website at www.rwandaschoolproject.org/ or
contact anyone on Global Mission Committee.
