The Tenth Sunday after Pentecost

Selected Readings

God of the way,

You are the road we travel,

And the sign we follow:

You are the bread for the journey,

And the wine of arrival.

Janet Cawley

God does not offer us

a way out of testings of life.

He offers us a way through,

and that makes all the difference.

W. T. Purkiser

Luther Quote of the Day

What is the proof by which one may know that this heavenly bread is his and that he is invited to such a spiritual supper?  He needs only to look at his own heart.  If he finds it so disposed that it is softened and cheered by God's promises and is firm in the conviction that it may appropriate this bread of life, then he may be assured that he is one of the invited; for as one believes, even so is it done unto him."

Today at Muhlenberg

It’s an unusual Sunday at Muhlenberg.  There are no special activities planned today!  For what seems like the next 51 Sundays, there will be much to do.  So get ready for a great fall start-up and many activities to come.  (Be sure to watch for the September issue of The Red Door for more information.)

But for today, just sit back, relax and enjoy the service.

Guest Organist Today

We wish to thank Cory Leckrone for serving as our organist this morning.  Cory, one of our Children’s Choir Co-Directors, is serving as organist for our morning services and as musical director for our Sunday Evening Service in the absence of our Minister of Music who is on vacation.  We appreciate her contribution to our worship services.
