The Twenty-Fourth Sunday after Pentecost

Selected Readings

Earthly hopes must be killed,

only then can one be saved by true hope.

Soren Kierkegaard

We must accept finite disappointment, but we must never lose infinite hope.

Martin Luther King, Jr.

Luther Quote of the Day

One of Luther’s students once asked him, “Dr. Luther, what would you do if you knew the world were going to end tomorrow?”

Luther responded, “I would plant a tree.”

 Today at Muhlenberg

A New Light is Shining

2007 VISION GOALS

“Where there is no vision, the people perish” Proverbs 29:18 KJV

Please return your form selecting the five ideas you want to include in the ministries at Muhlenberg.  There is a basket in the rear of the Narthex for you to place your completed form. (Extra forms are available on the desk in the Narthex.) The ideas that receive the most votes will be presented at the November 26th Congregational Meeting for approval.  These visions of ministry are beyond the many things we already do at Muhlenberg.

Special Prayer Opportunity

in Worship today

We invite individuals to join us TODAY and on the third Sunday of each month during the distribution of the Eucharist to come into the Caring Corner before or after communing for a brief word of personal prayer.  The pastor who is not presiding will meet with you privately, hear your prayer concern and offer a brief personal prayer for you and/or your loved one.

Welcome New Members

Please welcome these brothers and sisters in Christ who are joining the family of God at Muhlenberg by affirming their baptism with us today at the 11 o’clock worship service.  We give thanks to God for their presence in our fellowship and pray that together we will build up this Body of Christ and serve the Lord!
