Christ the King Sunday

Selected Readings

What does it profit you to give God one thing if he asks of you another?   Consider what it is God wants, and then do it.  You will as a result better satisfy your heart than with that toward which you yourself are inclined.

–– St. John of the Cross

Christ must have first place in our lives.  We need to give him the key to every secret closet in our hearts, and help him to clean out all the junk we have allowed to accumulate there.

–– Carol Myers

Luther Quote of the Day

I would not give one moment of heaven for all the joy and riches of the world, even if it lasted for thousands and thousands of years.

The weekly deadline for The Chimes

is 8:00 a.m. Thursday.

Today at Muhlenberg

Dedication Today

of the ELW Books

Today we dedicate our new Evangelical Lutheran Worship books with a special thank you to Sandra and Larry Blade. Sandra and Larry are presenting the new hymnals to the Muhlenberg congregation in honor of Larry’s parents, Margaret and Lawrence Blade. Margaret loved to sing, so this gift is especially appropriate to honor and remember her. We thank Larry and Sandra for this most generous gift. We begin using our new ELW books today. They combine much of what was in the Lutheran Book of Worship and With One Voice, and more! The compilation of the ELW has been at least five years in the making, and it should make our worship experience even more joyful and meaningful.

So what will we do with the Lutheran Book of Worship books? If you would like to have a copy of the green LBW for your own, they are available in Wayland Hall. Please feel free to take one.  You may give a donation of your choice in the basket.

You are invited…
