ThE SECOND SUNDAY AFTER EPIPHANY

Selected Readings

People always assume the Church’s business is to teach morality, but it isn’t.  The Church’s business is to proclaim grace, forgiveness of sins and the free party for all.

Robert Farrar Capon

Marriage, like life together in the church, is a journey toward an unknown destination.  People must share not only what they don’t know about each other, but what they don’t know about themselves.

Michael Ventura

Luther Quote of the Day

Before the Gospel arrives everyone understands the law as demanding works.  There remains nothing but water in the pot, and fear of God’s judgment.  But when the heart hears that Christ fulfils the law and takes our sin upon himself, water no longer is in the pots, it has turned to wine, and the heart is glad.
