Disaster Response

Mission Trip to the Gulf

June 10 – 17

Muhlenberg and Blessed Sacrament will sponsor a joint mission trip to do Hurricane Relief work in Slidell, LA this June 10-17.  Ten Lutherans and ten Catholics will not only share their faith together but work side by side to do mission work in areas ravaged by Hurricane Katrina in Slidell, LA.

COMFORTS BLESSED THIS MORNING

Are you cozy and comfortable today in the pew?  Aren’t they beautiful!  Can you imagine the joy one of these warm comforts will bring to someone who needs warm winter bedding?  So far this year, the ladies have made 105 comforts, 4 baby comforts, and 20 baby afghans!  Join us on Thursdays (until April 6), beginning at 9 a.m.  Call Katie Ray at 879-2427 for information.

Lenoir-Rhyne College

A Cappella Choir Concert

March 22, 7:30 p.m.

Muhlenberg is privileged to host Lenoir-Rhyne College A Cappella choir from Hickory, North Carolina in concert on March 22 at 7:30 p.m.  This 45-voice ensemble performs sacred music inspired by the St. Olaf tradition.   

     We have been asked to provide housing on Thursday night, breakfast at the hosts’ homes and return the students to the church on Friday morning.  We are also asked to provide financial support.

Fellowship Time …

…Every Sunday morning, 10:35-10:55 in the MAC.  The host group for February 25 is the Nielsen Room Adult Sunday School Class.

 

 

Divorce Care

This support group will start with a day retreat next Saturday February 24 at Bridgewater College from 9:00 to 3:00.  Childcare will be provided.  We will meet on Monday nights, 7:00-8:30 in the Campus Room, February 26 thru April 30.  Counselor and MLC member Amy Ghaemmaghami will lead this support group.  For more information, and directions to the retreat, please contact Amy G. Marriage Enrichment

Relay for Life

Meeting February 20, 7:00 PM

Attention all who are interested in being part of the Muhlenberg Team for the American Cancer Society’s “Relay for Life” at the Rockingham County Fairgrounds, May 11th – 12th.  Please join us for a meeting at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday February 20 following the “Shrove Tuesday” dinner.  Bring your completed registration form to the meeting, or put it in Diane Bayer’s box outside the church office. Pastor Vought is working with the ELCA Lutheran Center in Wittenberg, Germany and has more information about the Lutheran Heritage Tour, July 18-29.  If you are interested in such a pilgrimage, please speak with Pastor Joe.
