Food Pantry Donations Today & Lay Communion Ministers

Serving our Shut-ins

Today we receive non-perishable food donations for area food pantries.  Lay Communion Ministers will be blessed and sent forth this morning. 

 

 

Relay for Life

This Friday & Saturday

TODAY our relay team will have luminaries for purchase in memory or in honor of a loved one or friend. Luminaries will be available after the 8:00 liturgy and before the 9:30 and 11:00 liturgies.  Team members, come by Diane Bayer’s office to sign-up for your walking slot.  Please come out and support our team at the Rockingham County Fairgrounds.  We will begin at 6:00 pm this Friday and finish at 6:00 am Saturday morning.

The Ruth Sigmon Circle (please bring salad) and the Mary/Martha Group (please bring a dessert) will meet for their annual dinner in Wayland Hall at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, May 7.

Attention Grades 6-12 & Parents

Meet TODAY for presentation and discussion with Leymah Gbowee from Liberia, Africa.  Grades 6-8 meet from 9:00-9:45 (note the start time is 9:00, not 9:30) and grades 9-12 from 9:45-10:30.  Please make every effort to be part of this special program.

 

 

J Crew Service Project

Join us TODAY, May 6, for yard work at Haas House. We will meet in the MAC for lunch following the 11:00 liturgy; bring a brown bag lunch or money for Burger King. We hope to be back at church by 4:00. Please contact Karen Thomsen, 828-2808.

We will meet in the MAC for lunch after the 11:00 liturgy and then go to RMH.  We ask you to make every effort to attend this faith forming experience.

Divorce Care

Another Divorce Care support group will start with a day retreat on Saturday, May 12 to be held at Bridgewater Retirement Community from 8:30 to 3:00 in the “Smith Room” of the Houff Center.  We will meet Monday nights, 7:00-8:30 p.m. in the campus room, May 14-July 2.  Counselor and MLC member Amy Ghaemmaghami (433-8377) will lead this group. 

 

 

Camp Caroline Furnace

Family Camp — Memorial and Labor Day Weekends.  KIDs — week-long summer camp sessions that include a variety of activities. Brochures are on desk in Narthex.
