The Sixth Sunday of Easter

Selected Readings

Look less for the dwelling of God than to be the dwelling of God. In that is peace.

William Loader

Luther Quote of the Day

There is no way to peace...peace is the way.

Peace is more important than all justice; and peace was not made for the sake of justice, but justice for the sake of peace.

 Today at Muhlenberg

Blessed Mother’s Day

We honor and give thanks today for all mothers and those who love and nurture children.  Through their constant and generous care, mothers become windows through which we can glimpse the loving and abiding care that God provides for us each day.  We rejoice in the gift of mothers, and the Muhlenberg community wishes all of them a most blessed day.

Attention! Mothers and all women who have nurtured us in faith:  you are all invited to a breakfast in your honor. Please join us in the MAC today Sunday, May 13 at 9:30 a.m.

This week at Muhlenberg

Ascension Eve Service

This Wednesday, 6:30 p.m.

Forty days after Easter, the Festival of the Ascension was observed at least as early as the fourth century and always in the spirit of joy as commemorating the completion of Christ’s earthly appearances.  During the second reading, the Paschal candle, whose light during the forty days has represented the presence of our Lord in the midst of his disciples, is extinguished.  On Wednesday, we will be observing the Eve of Ascension with a service at 6:30 p.m. here at Muhlenberg.  Make plans to be here for this festival.
