This week at WAM, we will sponsor a fundraiser for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.  As you know, one of own children, Jordan Parmeter, is afflicted with CF.  We will also be sponsoring a team to walk for CF on June 2.  Please come to WAM prepared to make a generous donation and if possible join our team as a walker.  All proceeds from the dinner will go to CF.  Hope you see you there.

will be Wednesday, May 30.

 

Faith At Work

How do we connect our Sunday faith with Monday vocations and ethical struggles? Faith at Work is a discussion and support group.  Meets May 23rd at 6:30 p.m. in the MAC.

 

 

Mark Your Calendar

Virginia Blood Services Drive

Muhlenberg and the Care Committee will sponsor a blood drive right here in the MAC on June 6 from 3-7 pm.  If you are at least 18 years old, weigh at least 110 pounds, are in good health, and would like to help save a life, please sign up for a time on the bulletin board outside the library.  There's no need to “fast” before you donate. We'll have plenty of beverages and snacks to make sure you're safely on your way afterwards.  Call Linda Morrison at 433-5286 with any questions.

 

Don’s Retirement Celebration

Sunday, June 3 at 2:00 PM

On Sunday, June 3rd, the congregation of Muhlenberg Lutheran Church will honor Don Smith with a retirement concert in the Nave at 2:00 p.m. followed by a reception in the Muhlenberg Activities Center at 3:30.  Sign up on the bulletin board for food planning purposes.

 

A Midsummer Night’s Dream

Blackfriars Playhouse in Staunton, Saturday, June 9th.  Trip information attached to signup sheet in hallway. Meet at 6:00 p.m. in church parking lot; show starts at 7:30 p.m.  

     If you would like to dine in Staunton before the show, several members of the congregation are going to The Mill Street Grill.  To caravan to the restaurant, meet at the church at 4:45 or meet us at the Mill Street Grill about 5:30. They don't take reservations, so we need to get there early to make sure we have time to eat and get to the show by 7:30.  Contact Jenny Burden (607-0812) or Martha Dovel (269-4211 or 578-0811) for info.

 

 

Congratulations to our College Graduates!

We recognize additional college graduates of Muhlenberg.  They have been a rich blessing to us these past years and will surely move forward to bless many others in the days ahead.

Sunday Church School

Today is the last day for regular Sunday School.  We thank all the teachers and anyone who has worked to make our Sunday school program a wonderful faith forming experience for all who attended.

 

 

JCrew Sending

Today we will have our Senior Send Off.  It is important that everyone plan to attend this meeting to honor our seniors.  Meet in the MAC following the 11:00 liturgy.  You will need $5.00 for lunch at Luigi’s (seniors don’t need money).  We encourage everyone to stay after lunch to attend the MTP play, An Abridged History of the World According to the MTP, in support of some of our JCREW members. Alpha Teens

If you are not in the MTP play, meet at church TODAY at 2:00 to go get ice cream and then attend the 3:00 performance of the play.  Please attend this meeting in support of your fellow ALPHA TEEN members. For more info, contact Tim (438-9167) or Saundra (433-0291).

Summer Sunday school will start on Sunday, June 17, at 9:30.  Children 3-5th grade will start in the Nave with an opening (as we do every Sunday during the regular school year).  Plan to make your summer church experience a 2-hour one — join one of our classes.  Contact Diane Bayer for info. or to offer your help.
