The Sixth Sunday after Pentecost

Selected Readings

The church exists by mission in the same way that fire exists by burning.

Carl Braaten

If your Gospel isn't touching others,

it hasn't touched you!

-Curry R. Blake

The Church exists for nothing else but to draw men into Christ, to make them little Christs.  If they are not doing that, all the cathedrals, clergy, missions, sermons, even the Bible itself, are simply a waste of time.  God became Man for no other purpose.

-C. S. Lewis

Luther Quote of the Day

It is the duty of every Christian

to be Christ to his neighbor.

“Second Home” News

Longaberger Basket & Craftsman Tool Bingo

THIS SATURDAY

Join us for bingo THIS SATURDAY, JULY 14 to support “Second Home,” a community-based before and after school program serving the Spotswood Elementary neighborhood and housed here in the Muhlenberg Activities Center.  There will be Longaberger Baskets and Craftsman Tools to win, raffles, and plenty of good food and fellowship.  Doors open at 4:00 pm; games begin at 6:00 pm.  See full details on the bulletin board.

If you have promised sponsorship of a basket or tool, or elected to donate food or funds to help with the purchase of food for the concession, please get that in today, as we need to have all those arrangements finalized.  We are still looking for gifts for our “Clover Pull,” so if you have or can solicit something suitable, please help.  Place items in the box in the Narthex.  Don't forget to call for your bingo cards and come out and have fun with us.  We are looking forward to a great turnout.  Thanks to everyone for their great support! Call Elizabeth Reilly at 828-1416 (home) or 434-4459 (work) for more info.

Thank You

Thank you for the comfort quilt.  I’ll remember the love and support of all my friends and the congregation every time I use it at Penn State.

Sarah Perrotto

Thank you so much for the generous gift of the quilt.  It means a lot to know it was made by the church women.  Thank you for nurturing my faith development through my childhood.

Kevin Matthias
