The Eighteenth Sunday after Pentecost

Selected Readings

If you show much eagerness in welcoming some distinguished person you do nothing remarkable.  But we do something truly great and admirable when we give a most courteous welcome to all, even the outcasts of society or people of humble condition.

St. John Chrysostom

If the rich could pay the poor to die for them, the poor would make a good living.

Luther Quote of the Day

Whoever feels the goodness of God, feels also for the misfortunes of his neighbor; but whoever is not conscious of the goodness of God has no heart for his neighbor.
