The Baptism of Our Lord

Selected Readings

Christian faith does not separate us from the world but immerses us in it. The Church is not a fortress set apart from the city, but a follower of Jesus who loved, worked, struggled and died in the midst of the city.

Oscar Romero

Baptism stays with us all our days.  And when death has put an end to our sinning, it still cannot put an end to our baptism.   The God who called us by name in baptism will call us forth like Lazarus from the tomb.

H. George Anderson

Luther Quote of the Day

Baptism is done in one day

but it takes a lifetime to complete

First Communion Classes

We will be starting a First Communion class February 3, during the Sunday Faith Formation hour and that will run for the next five weeks. Most often, the first communion class is for students in the fourth grade whose parents/guardians feel that this is the appropriate time for their child to start the class. Younger or older children are welcome to participate in the class. If you have, a younger child that you feel is ready for Communion, they are invited to the class and may commune after parent/guardian consultation with one of the pastors. We ask that one parent/guardian attend the class with your child. Students and their families will commune together on Palm Sunday March 16.
