Second Sunday
after Epiphany
Selected
Do not, then, seek Christ elsewhere than
where Christ wished Himself to be preached to you; and as He wished Himself to
be preached to you, in that fashion hold Him fast, in that manner write Him on
your heart.
How you believe God perceives people will determine how you
respond to them.

Luther Quote of

what you do not say.

Individual Prayer
in Worship
today
“Are
any among you suffering? They should
pray. Are any cheerful? They should sing songs of praise…The prayers
of the righteous are powerful and effective.” (James 5:13, 16)
Here at Muhlenberg we strive to be a people at prayer
during worship, praying for the Church, the world, our community, for those we
love and other intentions. We know that
on any given Sunday, many of us may be carrying personal wounds or joys that
could be addressed by a word of personal prayer.
Mindful of
this need and our call to be a praying people, we are inviting individuals to
join us TODAY and on the third Sunday of each month during the
distribution of the Eucharist to come into the Caring Corner before or after
communing for a brief word of personal prayer.
The pastor who is not presiding will meet with you privately, hear your
prayer concern and offer a brief personal prayer for you and/or your loved one.
You are invited…

First Communion Classes
We
will begin a First Communion class
February 3, during the Sunday Faith Formation hour and that will run
for the next five weeks. Most often, the first
communion class is for students in the fourth grade whose parents/guardians
feel that this is the appropriate time for their child to start the class.
Younger or older children are welcome to participate in the class. If you have,
a younger child that you feel is ready for Communion, they are invited to the
class and may commune after parent/guardian consultation with one of the
pastors. We ask that one parent/guardian attend the class with your child.
Students and their families will commune together on Palm Sunday March 16.
