The First
Sunday of Lent
Selected
These scriptures are about
the temptation not to be a good human being. I think they are about the
temptation not to be a human being at all. As far as I can tell, what Adam and Jesus are
both tempted by is the chance to play God.
Barbara
Brown
Oh Lord, Give me chastity and
continence, but not just now.
with sin in his “Confessions”
Luther Quote of the Day
This
is the greatest and most grievous sin, from which all other sins come… Pride
drives to all sins. The chief sin is the
desire to be God.
