Sunday of the Passion/Palm Sunday

Selected Readings

Too many Christians only come to church for the triumph of Palm Sunday and then skip to the triumph of Easter.  They skip Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and miss the descent into greatness.  The only way up is down.   Jesus is calling us to that same journey.

Usually prophets are in the midst of stressful situations.  They are funeral directors for the past and midwives for the future.

Zachary David Hawkins Dolack

Baptized, A New Child of God

Welcome Zachary David Hawkins Dolack, son of Michael Dolack and Lisa Hawkins into the Body of Christ and the Muhlenberg family at 11 o’clock this morning!  Zach’s sponsors are Dan and Cathy Leitner.  Welcome to the Lord’s family, Zach!

Today at Muhlenberg

Today our services begin with the blessing of palms, the reading of the processional Gospel and the procession with palms.  At 8:00 and 9:30, this will take place on our front lawn.  Prior to the 11:00 service, we meet on the front lawn at 10:30 and proceed to Court Square where downtown churches gather for this ceremony.  We then process back to the church which becomes our Jerusalem as the triumphal entry marks the beginning of Holy Week.

Help beautify our church for Easter and remember or honor a loved one.  See the bulletin board for full details and to sign up by Tuesday evening. The cost per plant is $10.  (Please note “Easter Lilies” on the memo line of your check.)  Lilies may be picked up after the 11:00 am service Easter Day.
