The Fourth Sunday of Easter

Selected Readings

When you give the task of shepherd and gatekeeper to God, you lose control over who enters the fold.  When you take seriously the admonition to help a brother or sister in need and forget to ask whether or not only certain people need apply you might start helping the “wrong” people.  And they might like it and come back.

             William Brosend

You cannot follow the shepherd all by yourself…you are stuck with the flock.

Barbara Brown Taylor

Luther Quote of the Day

A Christian lives, eats, drinks, works, does what he has been commanded to do.  He also suffers whatever suffering is placed on him.  For his ears hang on the voice and Word of the Shepherd, and he schools himself not to judge by what he experiences and feels but by what the voice and Word says.

New Member Classes

“Walking Together by Faith”

New Member Inquiry Classes

Begin NEXT SUNDAY, April 20

We invite visitors and friends to journey with us as we explore what it means to be a Christian, a Lutheran, a follower of Jesus and a member of the Muhlenberg family.  We will meet after worship at 12:15 p.m. for lunch and conversation on Sundays, April 20 and 27.  A daytime retreat will be held on Saturday, May 3.  New Members will be received on Sunday, May 4, and there will be a new member luncheon that day as well.  Please signup on the Hallway Bulletin Board.  Call Pastor Dave or Pastor Joe for more information at 434-3496.

The floral arrangement in peace baskets is in memory of the victims of the Rwandan genocide, which occurred shortly after Easter in April 1994.  As our congregation’s connections with Rwanda continue to grow, we pray that the Rwandan people will be strengthened in their search for peace and reconciliation.

You are invited to a
