“WELCOME”
(First Word)
We are glad you are interested in attending services with us!
The second word is “Relax”; you will be among friends.
The third word is
“Participation”; our worship is not a spectator sport. When you join us we invite you to do the
following:
+ Follow the Worship Booklet
that you will be given before you enter the worship area. Bring your Bible but we also include the
readings in the Worship Booklet. We use
the NRSV.
+ Sing the Hymns. (The
Worship Booklet will let you know which Hymn to sing. Sing to the best of your ability because
Scripture invites us to make a joyful noise!)
+ Participate in the Liturgy
where you see the Boldface Print or “C” (for Congregation) in the
Worship Booklet. The Liturgy is what
the pastors and the people do!
+ Stand Up and Sit Down as
you are able. (Just so you know we
stand to hear the Gospel and to sing the liturgy and hymns.)
+ Pass the Peace – Greet one
another in the name of the Lord! Keep
in mind that God is not just up, or out, there, so reach out and spread your
peace in God while receiving the peace of God in others by sharing a friendly
handshake with those around you. We are
a community of believers.
+ Receive Holy
Communion. This is the Lord’s Supper
not the Lutheran Supper. (Baptized
Christians who share the Lord’s Supper at their own churches are welcome to
share it with us.)
+ Amplification devices are
available from ushers for the hearing impaired.
If you are new we may ask
you to raise your hand to identify yourself before the service begins, we
definitely want you to fill out our Visitor card, and we will more than likely
“mug” you (don’t worry it doesn’t hurt).
Please consider that our
worship does not end when the service does, but continues in the world we live
in as we are dismissed to serve. In our
daily lives we are called to be ministers of God’s love and mercy as we live by
the power of the risen Christ.
Again, thank you for finding
us, we welcome you to worship with us!
