Programs and Speaking Engagements

Nantahala Outdoor Center, Bryson City, North Carolina, Canoe Week, March 2000.

Eli presented a program on the Open Canoe in Freestyle Rodeo for the clinic and staff at NOC, Wesser.

Monocacy Canoe Club, Frederick, Maryland, Winter Meeting, March 16, 2000.

Eli entertained and enlightened a crowd of about a hundred with slides, videos and stories of New Zealand and of the 1999 World Cup Rodeo.  Thanks to a great audiance!

Peter Muhlenberg Middle School, Woodstock, VA, mid-January, 2002.

Eli's Mom teaches there.  She's bragged on him so much that he had to do this one for free.  The program is to encourage students in goal setting and the achievment of one's goals.

Coastal Canoeists, Virginia, Fall Quarterly Meeting, October 16, 1999.

This was the annual "Pig Roast".  Folks were on the edge of their seats.  Eli had the whole crowd with him all evening.  The club's contribution helped pay his boat's way to New Zealand, and he had so much fun that he stayed to run the Yough with them the following weekend.

Bunch's Boater Bash, Asheville, NC, 14 October 1999.

Eli's friends put this one together.  The crowd estimated at between 300 and 350 raised enough for air fare to the World Cup in New Zealand.  What a party!

Harrisonburg-Massanutten Rotary Club, Harrisonburg, VA June 1999.

Nice lunch, good program, engaged and interested crowd, but no honorarium.  A lesson learned?

Coastal Canoeists, Virginia, Winter Meeting, January 1999.

This was practice before a home crowd.  Eli was dressed to take donations and did quite well.

Get Eli to Speak at Your Function

Eli was a quiet child.  His kindergarten teacher had never heard him speak before the night of the first parent/teacher conference, well into the third week of school.  He is glad to do programs for groups when it can be fit into his schedule.  In return, he expects to receive some help toward offsetting his very considerable cost of participation at the pro level in a minor sport.  Please contact us.  Let's see what we can work up together.
