Happy Christmas Eve! We're getting ready to go have lunch somewhere and then visit the Baldwins for a bit. I need to cook a bunch of Johnny cakes this afternoon to take to Bill & Dawn's this evening and we'll be going back tomorrow for most of the day I expect.  Thinking of each of you- Enjoy and be thankful always.

Tuesday 12/23/08

Darn! I wish I could figure out what this Bah Humbug thing is. It hits and I have to really push to keep from looking for a cave in the mountains. Oh Well- it'll be over again soon. Frankly I just don't feel like putting words here today. The sun is shining and it's wet out but I going to find something to do. Hopefully the wet will be gone soon. 

Monday 12/22/08

Everything is OK at "old #5" as far as I know anyway. The Christmas festivities might be in trouble. The weather outlook isn't very encouraging. Cold and wet! Ah two of my regular topics that have been way over done of late. With Bill's bar being functional and their dining room just of the patio it should work but not in the usual Christmas outside way.

Mr. "B" seems to be doing well. He's getting up from chairs without help most of the time and he's a lot more agile using his walker. Good signs.

Rain coming again this afternoon. I WAS going to spray for the weeds that are sprouting out everywhere BUT. . .

I'm thinking a little quality shop time might be in order. Clean off the bench and maybe make kindling. Always need kindling if you're going to enjoy semi-instant fireplace fires. We'll see about all that- sort of depends on the temperature.

Stir fry supper - another use for leftover pork lion. Results - good. 1/2" chunks of pork get reheated in the wok to get some of the seasonings and liquid for the veggies - removed till the veggies are almost ready then reheated with the veggies. Not bad at all.
