is Our History?
The Rockingham-Harrisonburg Society
for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals was founded August, 1972
in order to provide general assistance to animals and the public.
How
are We Governed?
The SPCA is governed by a volunteer
Board of Directors nominated by the current Board membership for a one year term.
Elections are held each Spring during a special closed session Board meeting.

The mission of the Rockingham-Harrisonburg
SPCA is to promote respect, compassion, education and advocacy
resulting in a humane and sustainable environment for all animals.
How Many Animals Do We Encounter?
Many pets come into us by animal control and area residents picked up as strays,
