• Animals who are found with collars are kept for 12 days.
• Animals without collars are kept for 7 days.
• Lost pets are not necessarily put up for adoption once the 12 or 7 days has passed.
• The Rockingham-Harrisonburg SPCA acts as an impoundment facility for the city and county. Any animals retrieved by  animal control officers or the sheriff's office are brought to the shelter.
• Remember, I.D. tags are distributed free from the Shelter. This provides a convenient way for your animals to be identified and returned to your home.
• If your animal is lost, please call and report it to the shelter right away. The pictures below are only a representation of the lost animals that are brought to the shelter on an almost hourly basis. We cannot possibly show every stray on this web page.  Thank you for your understanding as we try to reunite you with your pet!
