We are so happy when people think of us, and drop by with a useful item. However, sometimes, what you may think we could use, isn't always something we are most in need of, or currently in need of - please see the list below for items we really could use now.

Please note that dry dog and cat food has a very short shelf life, especially during the warmer months when heat and insects are more of a concern. Canned food has a longer shelf life, or better yet, consider a financial contribution, so that we can purchase food items as needed.

For a Financial Contribution please make your check payable to: "RH SPCA"
Mail contributions to: Rockingham-Harrisonburg SPCA; P.O. Box 413; Harrisonburg, VA 22803

AND THANK YOU!

  • Dry puppy food*
  • Dry Kitten food  diets*
  • Dry & canned dog food*
  • Dry & canned cat food *
  • Treats for dogs should be small, breakable type treats**
  • paper towels
  • toilet paper
  • bleach
  • large trash bags
  • sponges and "scrubbies"
  • soft scrub cleanser
  • puppy shampoo
  • Advantage flea spot product
  • cat litter (prefer clay, non-clumpable, can be purchased at an auto supply)
  • office supplies (such as pens and copier paper, etc.)
  • Latex and/or rubber gloves

* Purina or Pedigree is preferred - no "special" diets. Since too many changes in diet can result in digestive problems, it is important in a shelter environment to keep food intake consistent.

** Volunteers use treats and if they aren't breakable, feed too many/much at a time, resulting in digestive upsets for the pets. Please help us minimize the problem by providing easily breakable or small size treats. Thanks for your understanding!
